UWM – 2015 Summer Fellowship

University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s Digital Fabrication and Design Graduate Candidate Caitlin Driver conducted research at the Digital Craft Research Lab into adaptive devices, hand design aesthetics, and alternative materials/processes for the creation of hands.

As part of this work, Caitlin developed adaptive technology for a Bach Student Trumpet TR300.  She chronicled her work on her blog.  Here are some pictures and an article about the device.  Click on each picture to get to the blog post.

playingOn the blog, you can read about some follow-on work in the fall term to create the same sort of device but for a different type of trumpet: a King Cleveland 600 Trumpet.king

Here is the original plan (pdf) for this summer fellowship work.
